Give packet gravy a flavour boost
Mix gravy powder to a smooth paste with a little cold water before adding required liquid.
Use half water and half red or white wine to make up the required amount of liquid. Add pan juices from the roasting tin.
Packet gravy tends to be low in fat but high in salt, so take care not to add extra salt. For extra flavour, season with a splash of soy sauce and freshly ground pepper.
