Job Description

Farm Supervisor – Make your next move

Ti Tree Food & Fodder is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Caason Group and operates Oolloo Farm, a rare freehold pivot irrigated property producing hay with plans to trial the growth of industrial hemp in a semi-arid setting. Located 200km north of Alice Springs, Oolloo Farm is adjacent to and supports Caason owned Aileron Station. The purchase of Oolloo Farm has enabled the company to extend its innovation, research and development actives in alternate cropping, soil conditioning and remediation.

An exciting opportunity now exists for a hands-on Farm Supervisor to work independently and under the guidance of the Farm Manager, carrying out daily operations of Oolloo Farm. Providing invaluable assistance to the Farm Manager, this key role will require the successful applicant to have good irrigated farming knowledge and be involved in all farming activities.

Responsibilities
–   Supervise and carry out all day to day operations of irrigated farming
–   Ensure compliance related to Workplace Health and Safety
–   Maintenance and scheduling of pivot irrigation system
–   General servicing and maintenance of tractors, generators, plant and farming equipment
–   Observe crop health and implement treatments for pests and weeds
–   Liaise with agronomists, suppliers and co-ordinate seasonal contractors
–   Report to and work collaboratively with Farm Manager

Requirements
–   Good knowledge of irrigated crop production
–   Must be an enthusiastic team member committed to safe and inclusive workplace
–   Experience with operation of farm machinery for all aspects of farming ideally with knowledge of hay production
–   Ability to adapt to and overcome any unforeseen obstacles found in research and development activities and working in remote environment
–   Have an open mind and willingness to look outside the box to problem solve
–   Ability to lead by example and motivate team to reach their full potential
–   Good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices
–   Experience working alone, well organised with excellent time management and record keeping skills
–   Current drivers licence, truck licence preferred
