About the role
Reporting to the Station Manager, the Machinery Operator will be responsible for operating heavy machinery on the station to repair and maintain station roads, fence lines, fire breaks and carry out other earthworks as required.
Key responsibilities include:
Carry out grading of station roads to provide safe roads for vehicles.
Clearing and grading of fence lines and establish and maintain fire breaks.
Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on machinery.
Operate all machinery and equipment in accordance with workplace health and safety policies.
Experience in maintaining and operating heavy machinery.
Must hold a current manual drivers licence.
Current licences for grader, excavator, and loader preferred.
Ability to work alone and unsupervised.
Previous experience working in a remote location an advantage.

Legune Station is located on 306,000 hectares of private land in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, bordering Western Australia and the picturesque Kimberley region. Legune Station runs 30,000 head of high-grade Brahman cattle, with approximately 20 staff located at the station. The region boasts some of the best fishing in Australia and provides easy access to top attractions such as Lake Argyle, the Bungle Bungles and El Questro Homestead just to name a few!
