Vehicles and Plant
o Ensure all vehicles and plant are regularly serviced and maintained in working order
o Ensure all vehicles and plant are cleaned and tidied regularly
o Keep tyres repaired
o Mechanical repairs according to skill and experience
o Keep inventory of parts used and replacements required
o Keep inventory of lubricants and coolants
o Operate and supervise the operation of plant and vehicles so as to minimize wear and tear and repairs required
o Look for and recognize developing defects in plant and vehicles
o Assist and supervise other staff in day-to-day maintenance and care of vehicles.
Bores
o Service generators and engines every 250 running hours
o Repair defects as they develop

Troughs, tanks, earth tanks and pipes
o Assist with checking water supplies
o Assist with repair leaks
o Assist with installing new troughs
o Check pipelines
o Assist with blowing out pipelines

Fences
o Assist with repair of broken wires noticed during other work
Livestock
o Report any concerns e.g., sick animals or animals who may be in wrong place.
